DIN 582 Eye Nuts are generally used as a removable lifting point where a rated nut can be utilized. Also can be used as a termination for chain, wire rope and other assemblies where required. The following guidelines for lifting eye nuts DIN 582 have to be observed in addition to the load values in the above table. The eye nut must be fully screwd in to ideally contact the two mating faces. Both threads must be of an equal length and base material of equal strength to that of the nut. The official DIN standard sheet specifies the additional sizes M42, M48, M56, M64, M72 x 6, M80 x 6 and M100 x 6.
The DIN 582 eye nut is a shouldered, or collared, lifting eye with metric threads. Lifting eye nuts are female-threaded and are designed for use with a threaded shank. They are primarily used for permanent mounting to industrial machinery or equipment for lifting, rigging, or lashing or as an anchor point for other rigging hardware. While the shoulder pattern provides excellent stability at the base of the eye to accommodate angular loads, consult specifications for WLLs before conducting lifts. Eye Nuts are recommended primarily for zero-degree, in-line lifts. WLLs are reduced significantly for non-axial loads.
Non-machined lifting eye bolts and lifting eye nuts are usually supplied as semi-finished forged pieces (sand-blasted).White zinc-plated lifting eye bolts and nuts (minimum 8 microns) and hot-dip galvanized lifting eye bolts and nuts (minimum 78 microns) are also ready for immediate delivery. Other surface treatments are available upon request (yellow zinc plating, dacromet, painting, etc.).
