Key features:

  • Anchor Shackle, bolt type G2130, is suitable for permanent and extended lifting applications or when the load may slide on the shackle pin and cause it to rotate. A locking nut and a shackle cotter pin will provide added security. We also offer a different shackle model, G-2150, if you’d like to compare the two types of shackles. Check this article: How many types of shackles?
  • The G2130 shackle pin is available in various standard colors such as Red, Yellow, Black, Green, and Blue but can also be customized to your specific needs with a special painting.
  • Hot-dipped galvanizing and zinc plating may be the best choices if you’re looking for a reliable surface finish. These two processes use electric galvanization to protect against corrosion and weathering while providing a polished appearance. This article will provide an overview of these two methods, their common uses, and other available surface finishes that may suit your needs. 4 Rules you should know for the safe use of shackles:

  1. It is important to pay attention to each rigging component’s Working Load Limit (W.L.L) when handling any lifting operation with a shackle. Never exceed the stated W.L.L. as it could cause breakage and other potentially dangerous accidents if not followed correctly. Ensure that all shackles have clear and legible markings for reference.
  2. Before beginning a lift, inspecting shackles for any signs of wear and damage, such as deformation, cracks, or metal loss, is important. It should also be ensured that the shackle pin is entirely intact and properly screwed into it. By performing this visual check beforehand, potential problems can be identified and addressed before they become an issue.
  3. Periodic inspections and regular maintenance are critical for the performance and longevity of rigging shackles. It is important to keep them away from harshly abrasive edges or surfaces and avoid dragging or wearing them down through heavy usage that exceeds their working load limit (W.L.L).
  4. To ensure the quality of your rigging, it is important to take certain precautions when storing. You should keep your rigging in a dry, well-ventilated area for short-term storage. When storing for long periods, ensure the rigging surface is free of dirt or grime and avoid exposing it to heat or direct sunlight. Additionally, be mindful to keep corrosive chemicals away from your equipment since they can cause damage.
